Island Love

Welcome fellow scrapbookers!
So I couldn't resist, once again I thought I would participate in Scrap Africa's challenge. So this time, the rules were to do a create a page to do with Travel Adventures. My family and I have traveled to different parts of Asia but my absolute favorite place that we have visited is Thialand! My picture shown below is of my younger sister. We spent a day on a boat as we went Island Hopping. This photo is as we were in a canoe, cruising through caves. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Magical, interesting yet sorrel. For my page below, I wanted a beachy, cool feel. I couldn't help but to of course use flowers. They always seem to make their way into my pages one way or another. So if You are interested in also playing along, head over to Scrap Africa to play along. Entries close August 31st! - Rachael x

First my mother, forever my friend.

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by!
So, on this cold winters day, I couldn't bare the idea of stepping out of my warm house, so I of course I decided to scrapbook! I have been sitting at this kitchen bench for hours, with a cup of coffee and a bench full of embellishments and paper. Anyway, today I decided to enter a sketch competition that's running at Scrap Africa! It runs until the 14th August, so head over to enter before time runs out!

I was inspired by this page to use pink and splatters of gold as I feel like they work nicely together. I loved making this page, and finally using this photo booth photo that I have of  my mum and I. I cherish my mum, and like my title says, first my mother, forever my friend. She has supported me unconditionally and has loved me perfectly. I adore her and I wanted to showcase a page for her of pure beauty, simplicity yet elegance as that's how I see my mother and our relationship. So here it is!

The Sketch:
 My take on the sketch:

Special Little Moment

Hey there!

So it has been a white since I have posted anything, two weeks to be exact! Is it just me or is time absolutely flying?! Sorry that it has been a white since I have posted anything, unfortunately I have been tied down with University work which has been keeping me extremely busy, however I have had time to slowly get some projects done! The one in which I'm posting today, not to be bias but is one of my absolute favorite pages done to date! I was asked by my sister-in-law to create two pages for her and her partner to go in a shadow box. The only requirements was that the color scheme had to be black, white and grey. This page personally, I think turned out spectacular.

I wanted to keep the page sleek, stylish and sophisticated as Bec and her partner Matt are both adults, and this page was going to be displayed, so it needed to blend in with their room, yet stand out, and I needed to follow the color scheme as Bec has asked for. Therefore, this is my end result:
